This is an original oil painting of Spiderman acquired directly from the artist, David Palumbo. This work was created for the current Marvel Masterpieces 2020 trading card series, which includes card variants that are based on this very painting. 18"X24" oil on masonite panel - Artist signature on painting. Marvel Masterpieces is a series of trading card sets featuring characters from the Marvel Comics universe. They were first produced in 1992, and one of the most coveted trading card sets was released in 1996.

It saw extremely limited distribution and was created by the renowned comic book artists Julie Bell and Boris Vallejo. Now, almost 25 years later, Bells son, David Palumbo, has created the original artwork for the 2020 series. Palumbo was mentored by his mother and by Vallejo, who is his stepfather. Both Palumbos art and his lineage have made Marvel Masterpieces 2020 a highly anticipated set.

The image of this painting was used in many of the materials promoting Marvel Masterpieces 2020 and is one of the most recognizable pieces from the entire collection. This painting was acquired directly from David Palumbo in August, 2020.
