Adrian Tomine Original Art Pink Frosting Classic Optic Nerve Complete Story
Offered here is the original art to the classic 2-page story "Pink Frosting, " by famed cartoonist & "New Yorker" cover artist Adrian Tomine. The art is done in ink & Zipatone on bristol boards measuring 14 inches by 17 inches. This is your chance to own a real piece of comics history! One of Tomine's best-known stories, "Pink Frosting". First appeared in issue #2 of "Optic Nerve, " published by Drawn & Quarterly, and was nominated for an Eisner Award in 1996 in the category of Best Short Story. It's also included in a book collecting Tomine's work, entitled Sleepwalk & Other Stories. The artwork is truly stunning -- gorgeous linework in lush black ink and, as evidenced in the photos, incredible use of Zipatone throughout. The boards themselves are in great shape -- no creases, folds, tears, or stains. Both pages are signed by the artist to the right of the last panel with the inscription "to Roland" (see photos). The bottom-right corners of both pages & the bottom-left corner of one page are very slightly blunted (see photos). Feel free to contact me with any questions or to request additional photographs.
