Amazing Spider Man #272 Original Art Sal Buscema 7 Panel Nostalgic Page
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #272 Page 4. Original Art - Sal Buscema. In this issue (#272) was the first appearance of Slyde!
Condition: The page has the usual corners trimmed and a'top chop' (not like a Merc Cruiser though) and typical minor yellowing, but there are no folds, bends, tears, etc. With Aunt May and Uncle Ben Heads and a few of the bricks in the action panel are stats. , and has Sal Buscema's mastery throughout, b. Ut most of all (to me), Spider-Man is reflecting on the most poignant and seminal subject of his existence as a super hero... The guilt of not having saved Uncle Ben..
Yes, this is the Ultimate'Battle Page'! This classic subject has been visited in other issues over the decades (not too often) but rarely in as effective manner to the reader as done here - Aunt May and Uncle Ben images floating in the panels and then Spider-Man Lashes Out and Smashes a Chimney with a Single Blow!
Adding insult to injury, we are then also reminded (by the Land Lord/Superintendent of the building) of the antagonistic relationship Spider-Man has with the Daily Bugle and the populace... Capturing both the'internal' struggles and the'external' struggles that are a constant source of pressure for Peter Parker each day of his life... Regardless of the Villains he disposes. This is a true Peter Parker'Battle Page'! With Great Power There Must Also Come---Great Responsibility. Please check out my other auctions for more great items. Item(s) are packaged well and insured.
