Future comic book star Joe Jusko scored one of his first paying gigs while still a teen, drawing spot illos for coupons, ads, and catalogs for Village Comics Art Shoppe circa 1974, when Jusko was only 15 years old. Shown this piece on Facebook, Jusko commented It was the major comic shop in the Village for years, owned by Bill Morse. Right next to the Waverley Theater. It's where I met Howard Chaykin the summer I graduated high school and became his assistant. I did a magazine ad for them. From meager beginnings - lol. I can't believe this thing still exists. This may be the most affordable, and unique, Joe Jusko artwork you'll ever have a chance to own!
