JOHN BYRNE Pencil & Ink ORIGINAL ART Art for Painted Superhero Wall Mural (1996)
From the collection of DC and Archie Comics writer Paul Kupperberg! JOHN BYRNE UNPUBLISHED ORIGINAL ART featuring classic SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN, HAWKMAN & HAWKWOMAN, BATMAN & ROBIN, and THE FLASH.
Two (2) pieces of art, each approximately 8.5" x 11". These are the original sketches drawn in pencil and ink by John Byrne used to draw and paint the mural on my son's bedroom walls when he was born in 1996 (see photos). The art has a 1" pencil grid laid over it (I've bumped up the contrast on the scans so the pencil lines are visible; the actual art is on white art board) that enable Byrne to enlarge the art as he transferred it to the walls in pencil, after which I painted in the colors of the characters, followed by the artist "inking the painted images with black Sharpie over the paint.
