Kelly created this painting several years ago (possibly in the 1980s or the early 1990s). This is an acrylic preliminary for an unpublished (and probably unfinished) work. In the 1980s and 1990s, Kelly sometimes would create paintings like this, and send them off to science fiction conventions for sale. This probably wasn't developed into a finished, published cover, but one look indicates the protagonist is Conan with the customary damsel in distress. Housed in a black frame by The Frame Gallery.
