Marvel Graphic Novel #4 (The New Mutants) Artwork by Bob McLeod, page 47
The artwork: Bob McLeod is a comic book artist best known as a co-creator of the New Mutants with Chris Claremont. Their first appearance was in Marvel Graphic Novel #4. This issue released in 1982, featuring the original New Mutants characters of Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Mirage, Karma, and Cannonball, all recruited by Professor Charles Xavier. This page shows Sam Guthrie (Cannonball) coming to Xavier's, met by Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane) as Roberto DaCosta (Sunspot) rushes toward him in anger.
The original artwork shows where this part of the story began. You can even see how certain details were redone, such as there being less detail to Sam's coat in the final version. It's signed in the corner. This is on the standard 11x17 card stock paper used for comic book artwork.
Look closely and you can even see various notes in pencil. The page has been kept in the original packaging I received it in nearly the entire time I've had it, removed only to look at occasionally or scan digitally.
This is a chance to own a truly original and unique piece of artwork from the early 1980s with a lot of history behind it, one that features all five of the original New Mutants on one page. The details: Comes from a smoke-free home. When I received this from Bob, he sent the page protected between thick, sturdy pieces of posterboard or something similar. I need to be sure any interest is legitimate. Thank you and good luck! I have updated the mailing destinations to reflect this.
