Original cover art for The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom #144, Aug. 20, 1976
It's a one-of-a-kind horror piece featuring an astronaut exploring Saturn's moon, Hyperion. It's a pen and brush drawing in India ink on special Craftint (Duo-tone) paper. These chemical shading sheets were used in the past as an alternative to Zip-a-tone by artists such as Wallace Wood and Roy Crane. For the lettering, Maheras opted to used EC-style Leroy lettering. This piece has never been offered for sale online before, and if it does not sell, it may not be offered again - at least not in the near future. You may not get another chance. If you are looking to speculate on comics art, and are looking for material you can quickly flip, then this piece is probably not for you. There is no wiggle room on this price.
