Original Sandman Art / Marc Hempel & Neil Gaiman / The Kindly Ones / Delirium
This gorgeous piece of art is from the comic book that made Neil Gaiman's name, The Sandman. Specifically, it is page 7 of chapter 12 of the graphic novel The Sandman: The Kindly Ones. It was originally published as issue #68 in 1995. The art is by Marc Hempel (also known for Gregory and Tug & Buster). It depicts Delirium (one of the Endless) seeking an audience with Lucifer at his nightclub, with Mazikeen trying to deny her entrance. It's a striking page visually with witty Gaiman dialogue, showing off both collaborators at their best. I acquired the page directly from artist Marc Hempel in 1995, had it professionally framed immediately thereafter, and have treated it with love for the past two decades. It's in exquisite condition. The frame is 14 inches wide by 19.5 inches high. The image is 9 inches wide by 14 inches high, on an industry-standard bristol board. Similarly, if you would prefer to have the art without the frame for some reason, just let me know.
