RARE VINTAGE JOHN BYRNE (X-MEN) Portfolio 1993 Editions Deesse Signed & Numbered. This is a fantastic portfolio from one of the geniuses of comics John Byrne. Featuring classic Marvel X-Men characters. The portfolio consists of 6 plates (planche in French) which measure approximately 16 inches by 11 ½ inches. Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Kitty Pryde, Colossus and Jean Grey. Although the edition was licensed to be 3500 it did not sell out when it was released, probably because of the high price. This is part of the "Silver Edition" (see below). The last photograph is of the Regular Edition and the Silver Edition so that you will be able to see the difference in the logos. This sale is for one copy of the Silver Edition (#125). The portfolio was produced in France by Editions Deesse. It is printed on archival quality paper. It was produced in 1993. It was never displayed and is in beautiful condition - see photos and judge for yourself. A word about this edition. The complete edition was 3500 maximum BUT the first 100 were the "Gold Edition" with metallic gold trim on the front of the portfolio, the next 900 were the "Silver Edition" of which this is #125 and the remaining 2500 were the "Regular Edition". See the last photo for the difference between the SIlver Editon and the Regular Edition. So, the lower the number, the more desirable and the more limited.
