THE WIZARD OF ID Daily Comic Strip Original Art 12-21-1971 BRANT PARKER Hart
Art Type: Daily comic strip original artwork. Medium: Pen and ink over pencil/graphite on art board.
Zip-A-Tone (dot matrix plastic overlay) to helmet in all panels. Publication Date: December 21, 1971. Dimensions: 19.875" wide by 7" tall (board dimensions; image slightly smaller). Description: This is the original artwork for the 12-21-1971 daily comic strip THE WIZARD OF ID by Johnny Hart (writer) and Brant Parker (artist).
THE WIZARD OF ID featured the humorous medieval adventures of the King, the Wizard, Sir Rodney and the rest of the Id gang. Rodney hasn't had much luck so far, as he's collected a bunch of excuses rather than a pile of cash. A cute gag well rendered in Brant's classic style.
A rare opportunity to acquire an original featuring two of the main characters from this timeless strip. The art is in excellent overall condition. The title and creator names in the top margin are printed on the board (everything else, including the black panel borders, is hand drawn).
